Job Description

Ryan Companies is looking for an organized, innovative, collaborative and individual knowledgeable in building materials and design-build project delivery to join our team in Seattle as a Senior Specifier! The ideal candidate will be able to lead project teams through the specification process and develop specifications both collaboratively with a team and independently. Candidates with at least 5 years of experience or more are most likely to be successful, however those with unique career experience or display clear potential for the role will be considered.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Responsible for working closely with Architect and Interior Designer to develop project manual describing products, materials, administrative procedures and execution of the Work
  • Works with construction partners, facility operators, product representatives, specialty consultants, fabricators, subcontractors, and other stakeholders within the building material supply chain to ensure
  • Ryan standards are met and incorporated into project specifications
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships within the local specification community including Construction Specifications Institute, industry associations, reference organizations, and product representatives
  • Project Delivery:
    - Leads the development of clear, complete, concise, correct specifications on time and on budget for each project phase
    - Works with Client, Project Architect, Design Project Manager, Designers, Development, Construction and Consultants to develop specifications for preliminary pricing and construction
    - Attend project team meetings.
    - Provides strong knowledge of building products and materials; quality control testing; general building science principles, and reference standards applicable to multiple project types and regions
    - Assist team in researching product solutions, materials and regulatory requirements for unique materials and situations

You will really stand out if you:

  • Are CCS certified
  • Proven track record of coordinating efforts of staff to develop Project Manual
  • Knowledge of BSD SpecLink, MS Word, Excel, Procore; building standards and codes; design-build project delivery, documentation and constructability
  • Intermediate to advanced Bluebeam knowledge preferred
  • LEED AP Preferred

Eligibility

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Washington Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules for positions located in Washington. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts based on a variety of factors including experience, education, and other job-related reasons.

Salary range: $70,000 - $110,000 per year

Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.
