GENERAL PURPOSE

Perkins Coie LLP has an opening for a detail-oriented Paralegal Assistant with our busy business group on a wide variety of projects under the supervision of paralegals and attorneys on a variety of entry-level duties.

This position is open to our Los Angeles, Seattle, Austin, Portland, Palo Alto, and San Francisco offices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that the incumbent must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

  • Assist with maintaining corporate records.
  • Assist with maintaining stock ledgers and capitalization and option plan administration.
  • Assist with "blue sky" research and state and federal filings.
  • Assist with due diligence production and/or review.
  • Draft miscellaneous transaction documents.
  • Assist paralegals with closings on venture capital financing and merger and acquisition transactions.
  • Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters.
  • Conduct basic internet research. Ability to access and understand information contained on Secretary of State websites.
  • Keep accurate time records.
  • Prepare material for internal and external distribution.
  • Obtain factual information from clients and third parties, including governmental agencies.
  • Keep track of case/matter deadlines.
  • Perform computer database input and retrieval.
  • Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the Firm's attendance expectations.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Ability to track and record time accurately and timely.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a 4-year degree and 1-plus years experience as a corporate paralegal.
  • Law firm experience a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish, written and verbal, required.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, Excel, Google Docs.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid Holidays, and family care benefits. This position may be filled in the following location(s). The compensation depends on qualifications and experience.

San Francisco/Bay Area compensation range: $56,400 to $80,270 annually

Los Angeles compensation range: $51,460 to $73,240 annually

Washington State compensation range: $46,610 to $66,340 annually
