As a Business Systems Analyst at Tideworks you will be part of a cross-functional team of Software Engineers and Testers who apply their passion for technology to solve real-world problems. You will use your creativity and analytical skills to affect change in a global industry, working within a cross-functional, agile-oriented team performing eliciting business requirements and documentation, developing process flow models and other deliverables, and ensuring client needs are considered throughout the software development lifecycle. Engaging regularly with both internal stakeholders and external clients, you will leverage active listening and problem-solving skills to improve processes, software, and technology solutions, ultimately delivering value by solving complex business problems in the Global ERP Solution (IFS Cloud) we are in the process of implementing.

  • Engaging with clients, internal stakeholders, and the technical community via workshops, meetings, interviews, etc. to capture technical requirements and specifications.
  • Serving as a primary contact point for questions related to how a product, solution, or technology supports or enables work activities in a business process.
  • Engaging with clients, internal stakeholders, and technical SMEs to define the business rules that the product or solution needs to support.
  • Leveraging systems analysis models and diagrams such as activity diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, etc. to solve problems.
  • Developing specifications, diagrams, flowcharts, and other artifacts for development teams.
  • Recommending changes to existing applications, software, and products, identifying impacted interfaces, and working with technical teams to implement and test changes.
  • Verifying if software, products, and/or services meet client and Tideworks' needs/goals.
  • Working as a willing and valued team member accountable for achieving objectives and key results (OKRs) that drive Tideworks and client success.
  • Create and manage against OKRs.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 3+ years' work experience required from an analytical or software development capacity, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience analyzing, documenting, and designing business processes in the context of software/process integration preferred.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with business process re-engineering concepts and methods preferred.
  • Experience with ERP system preferred.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries preferred.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.
  • Proven ability to leverage leading problem-solving skills to solve complex problems.
  • Proven ability to apply leading communication skills to present technical information in a concise manner to various stakeholders, verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to apply active listening and collaboration skills to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve target outcomes.
  • Ability to quickly learn the objectives, structures, operations, and policies of a business area.
  • Ability to influence others using leading analytical and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, pragmatic, and committed.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify problems from a functional perspective.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to computer screens.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Required hybrid work schedule, at least 3 days/week in office.
  • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, or remotely from home.
