Overview: Our client, a well-known and established engineering, surveying, and planning firm, seeks a Mid-Level Planner to join their growing team. The ideal candidate provides support to project managers and the planning team on a variety of independent and team activities in the areas of permitting, planning, and policy projects in the Pacific Northwest. This is a long-term, direct-hire role located in Seattle, WA.
Pay Range: $73,000 - $90,000

Responsibilities:
Support the planning team for permitting, planning, and policy projects including meeting attendance, preparation of documents and proposals, client coordination, permit processes, and completing billings/change orders
Prepare staff reports and present information at public meetings and hearings
Research jurisdictional requirements, codes, and policies
Find, maintain, and fill out jurisdictional forms and applications
Submit permit forms and applications
Assist with the preparation of RFP/RFQ for planning projects
Prepare GIS maps
Assist, support, and be responsible for specific individual tasks on long-range planning and policy projects
Attend pre-application, application, and pre-construction meetings
Attend client meetings and conference calls
Coordinate with sub-consultants for needed design services
Attend site walks
Complete records requests and file dives
Proofread and edit documents prepared by planning staff
Contract and change order preparation in coordination with project managers
Pick up and deliver documents including plans to jurisdictions and clients
Prepare complex technical reports
Prepare project narratives and response letters
Project feasibility reports
Willing to jump in and assist wherever there is a need companywide
Requirements:
3+ years of experience of planning experience required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, economics, environmental sciences, geography, planning, or political science required
GIS and Microsoft Suite skills required
Understand permitting/project management processes, principles, and practices of planning and/or public policy required
Ability to read, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and policies required
Detail-oriented, organized, multi-tasking, and good follow-through skills
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Valid driver's license required
