OverviewMicrosoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, Microsoft Network, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for results-driven, and intellectually curious development Hardware Program Managers with dedicated passions for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure. The Hardware Manufacturing PM Group (HMPM) is a team that collaborates with Microsoft's suppliers, engineering design teams, business managers, and supply chain managers to ensure that the newest hardware that powers Microsoft's cloud services is available to our customers on-time and at the highest levels of quality. A critical function in this work ensures the newest hardware developed by Microsoft is built at our supplier's factories with efficiency, safety, and at the highest levels of quality. HMPM also ensures that our suppliers empower our customers by delivering this hardware and being agile and creative to work through the challenges of new product introduction. We are looking for a Principal Hardware Manufacturing Program Manager with a background on server design and manufacturing of products that cover Compute and Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) based Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads to join our team and take part in our vision to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more with Microsoft's technology.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Hardware Manufacturing Program Manager, your responsibilities will include: Manage manufacturing operations and execution of Microsoft's cloud New Product Introduction (NPI) hardware programs. Provides technical leadership across NPI efforts and manufacturing through the different phases of the product development lifecycle in a fast pace and complex environment. Forge a partnership and influence key stakeholders; maintain NPI relationship with external partners.See the big program picture to drive program goals with the ability to identify risks, mitigate risks and shift left. Define supply chain and drive team towards project schedules leading from operational readiness to product quality delivery.Front and center in anything manufacturing including unblocking risks and issues affecting manufacturing. Engage in driving team process improvements that supports efficiency and scalability. Communicate program status and health to stakeholders including leadership teams. Utilize project management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track progress, identify and mitigate risks, and drive decision-making to keep programs on track.
