OverviewThe Power Automate Desktop - AI Integrations team builds products that combine the latest AI technologies, Power Platform services, and low-code capabilities in Power Automate Desktop to help users be more productive. We partner with teams in Windows, Teams, and Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), to meet the customers where they are, and help customers be more productive in their daily activities by detecting repeatable tasks and suggesting how to automate them. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead the power automate desktop AI integration team. As a team, we expose automations in all major Copilots and let customers use natural language to build and invoke desktop automations. We work with adjacent teams in Power Automate to combine desktop automations with cloud automations, task mining and process insights for an end-to-end, comprehensive solution to improve their productivity. We operate with high agility; we move fast from proof-of-concept, to a V1 in production and use feedback from customers to decide the next set of investments. ResponsibilitiesOwn all aspects of feature development, including quality, scalability, performance, telemetry, alerting, and maintenance. Contribute to the broader service architecture, ensuring it can scale to accommodate millions of users. Actively collaborate with partner teams, build technical knowledge, and oversee the incorporation of continuous feedback loops for customer value, usage patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Define quality metrics, best practices, and coding patterns to ensure testable and reliable code. Provide technical and people leadership during design reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Champion skill development efforts, mentor team members, and work with a team of remote engineers to ensure success. Provide hands-on technical leadership across various aspects, from architecture and design to code reviews, development, quality assurance, observability, and live site operations. Build relationships with Microsoft partners for innovation, hire and retain top talent, and encourage software engineering best practices.
