It is designed to meet evolving standards of safety and reliability to deliver lifesaving care to patients.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

Working under consultative direction only, is accountable for establishing and attaining strategic goals and providing planning, leadership, growth and direction for Account Executives in the medical technology field. Acts as the key communication link between the sales force and the internal organization.

This geography includes CO, WA, and CA.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

  • Strategic Planning - create the sales department's vision, mission and objectives, achieve sales plans and profitability objectives, and bring to the Business group an understanding of market conditions and sales opportunities.

  • Operations Management - link the operations of the sales department with key internal resources that track results, i.e., Finance or Finished Goods Inventory, and redirect efforts when adjustments need to be made. Has ultimate responsibility for sales goals.

  • Resource Management - create and execute on the formal structure and activities necessary for the department to meet its objectives. Direct the use of resources and information. Has budget responsibility for total or a major portion Communications - manage the dissemination of information throughout the sales department, between sales and other functions, and between the Business and its customers.

  • Personal and Professional Development - maintain a high level of sales and managerial skill, knowledge and ability.

  • Develops commission plan to achieve sales objectives.

  • Works independently with Business objectives in mind to achieve long range goals.

  • Works cross-functionally within the Business to solve highly unusual and complex problems that have broad business impact.

  • Serves as a prime contact and the spokesperson for the Business on significant policy and program issues.

  • Key member of Sales/Marketing Management Team to analyze, direct and review product offerings, competition and market strategies and programs.

  • Constructive and relentless in approach to problem solving. Mentors and motivates other to do the same.

  • Develops strategy for dealing with the managed care environment.

  • Develops regional group purchasing organization and alliances contracts.

  • Develops national accounts strategy.

  • New Key account closures.

  • Account penetration with the entire product offering.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position may require extensive business travel of 40% or more of the time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to manage and develop sales people, manage corporate sales and profitability goals.

  • Expertise in product and therapy knowledge.

  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with other functions within the Business.

  • Ability to interact in a positive, influential manner with customers.

  • A high degree of interpersonal skills.

  • A high level of market knowledge, including customer/business issues, alliances, trends, and competitive issues.

  • Ability to successfully negotiate on major matters of high impact for the Business.

  • Exceptional leadership and managerial skills.

LEVELS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales or related field.

  • Prior years sales experience, including at least three years in a sales management capacity.

Compensation: The target base salary for this position ranges around $140,000 - $165,000 annually + sales commissions. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
