Leadership:

  • Reports to a dyad senior leadership partnership between the Chief Nurse Executive and Chief Operating Officer.

  • Partners with the Chief Medical Officer for the Mary Bridge Children's Ambulatory Network for excellence in patient and family centered care in the ambulatory network.

  • Provides nursing leadership/competency oversight for nursing staff

  • Serve as a champion for improving the culture in alignment with High Reliability to include coaching/mentoring, facilitating educational sessions and sustaining best practices

  • Partners with interprofessional staff to achieve mutual goals that support organizational initiatives and strategies

  • Incorporates the voice of the patient or customer

  • Maintains a visible connection to the clinical staff, clinicians, and leadership via rounding and daily activities

Program Development:

  • Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Executive/Chief Operating Officer (CNE/COO), MB Ambulatory leaders, Quality, Information Services & Technology and others to identify, prioritize, develop, integrate, and execute professional practice initiatives.

  • Oversight and responsibility of implementation of MHS approved competency management model, including initial and ongoing competency and associated education plan(s) for the MB ambulatory departments in alignment with MHS Education Services and Quality Services

  • Partners with senior leadership to develop strategies and build a culture of clinical excellence and promotes the advancement of professional growth and development in nursing that drives nurse competence, retention and, engagement within the MB ambulatory realm.

Operations:

  • Supports effective operations through the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental programs, policies and procedures in the Mary Bridge Ambulatory Programs

  • Ensures delivery of services aligns with operating budget in support of achieving the overall financial objectives of Mary Bridge as well as the organization

  • Establishes consistency in professional practice, education, timely regulatory updates, and proper documentation standards and adherence to compliance initiatives.

  • Participates in strategic planning process and aligns departmental l goals and objectives with the mission, vision, and values of the organization and nursing.

  • Supports productivity improvement efforts across the organization that incorporate 'best practices" with focus on appropriate allocation of resources and improved efficiency.

Process Improvement:

  • Partners on process improvement and redesign initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and meet departmental and institutional goals and objectives.

  • Evaluates program performance and participates in the development of enhancement strategies as needed.

Quality Review/Assurance:

  • Assures effective quality assurance processes to support accurate record keeping of education and training in compliance with department procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Strictly adheres to the Continuous Quality Improvement Framework and executes plans to ensure clinical excellence.

  • Organizes and coordinates educational initiatives to ensure appropriate clinical scopes of practice, reduce harm and risk based on evidence-based reports, national data and internal claims, case review and trended internal data.

  • Ensures the voice of the patient is incorporated in quality improvement endeavors.

Education/Research:

  • Contributes to the establishment of a learning environment which is conducive by providing educational and research experiences to nursing leadership and staff.

  • Facilitates nursing's educational agenda aimed toward advancing nursing education, specialty certifications.

Human Resources Management:

  • Creates a high-performance team environment that supports MHS s journey to excellence through clearly defined performance standards, training, recognition and ongoing performance feedback.

  • Administers human resource functions within the provision of MultiCare policies and standards

  • Defines all clinical personnel requirements and position competencies for the ambulatory service collaboratively with the Administrators and CNE/COO.

  • Assures that clinical staff are trained, and -competencies completed appropriately.

  • Develops formal and informal practice of mentoring and developing management and front-line staff within area of responsibility.

Compliance and Regulatory Guidelines:

  • Maintains a current working knowledge regarding Joint Commission standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, the Professional Practice of Nursing, Washington Board of Nursing, and other regulatory and accreditation agencies standards as applicable.

  • Audits compliance against regulatory standards for department, identifies risks, identifiesappropriate internal controls for department, provides mechanisms to monitor and, ensure ongoing sustained compliance.

  • Ensures areas of responsibility are always survey-ready and in compliance with requirements of applicable planning, regulatory, inspecting agencies, and MultiCare Health System (MHS) policies.

  • Educates and informs employees, peers and others as appropriate of healthcare regulatory requirements, as well as Ml-IS policies and procedures

  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, complies with state and federal regulations.

Other Duties:

  • Participates in committees and task forces in order to improve the overall service to patients and organizational peers.

  • Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising quality of services delivered

  • Attends in-service presentations and completes mandatory education

  • Adheres to MHS Attendance and Punctuality Policy and Procedure standards, and maintains reliable.atten9ance

  • Contributes to the success of the orgaruzation by meeting organizational competency expectations and core values (respect, integiity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration and kindness), continuously learning, and by performing other duties as needed or assigned

Position Summary

The MB Network Nursing Director is responsible for achieving pediatric nursing standards of care, quality and management efficiencies for Mary Bridge Children's Network which includes all ambulatory and clinic settings. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining clinical standards and competencies, continuous survey readiness, and coordination of regulated and elective education and training. This is achieved in partnership with directors, managers, and other leaders. The position determines and maintains processes to achieve increasingly effective and efficient clinical personnel performance and quality. This position will also be responsible for interpreting and integrating policies and procedures in a clinic office setting
The position provides leadership and focus for the Pathway to Excellence vision as well as the concepts of the Professional Practice Model of Care and the Nursing Strategic Plan. Accountabilities include collaborating with Mary Bridge leadership to integrate and execute initiatives to support performance excellence; directing policy development or implementation related to MB ambulatory sites; administering management functions, demonstrating financial acumen, and creating a high-performance team environment all within the boundaries of MB ambulatory Clinics. This position will also oversee regulatory and compliance activities in the ambulatory clinics to ensure that all standards for outside regulatory and accreditation agencies are met.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing required
  • RN license for Washington State or eligibility to apply for a Washington nursing license
  • Experience in ANCC Pathway to Excellence highly desirable
  • Minimum eight (8) years' professional level experience
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Minimum five (5) years of ambulatory clinical experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical education, quality management or leadership development experience preferred
  • Proven track record working in complex, multi-site organizations

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $144,186.00 - $200,179.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
