Job Description

Parametrix, is a premier, 100% employee-owned transportation engineering, planning, environmental sciences, and construction management consulting company. We and seeking a Traffic Signal & Illumination Design Engineer III-IV to join our Greater Washington Team (Bremerton, Puyallup, & Seattle) in support of local municipal, state agency, transit, and other transportation infrastructure projects throughout the region. This position focus will be primarily to develop designs and construction of for signals, illumination, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) but may also support transportation design projects. This position has flexibility to work from home and come into the office for project and team collaboration.

This position will join a specialized team and is a growth opportunity for an engineer focused on signals, illumination and ITS to grow into a companywide technical resource and gain exposure to clients, project management and business development.

WHO YOU ARE:

Experienced: You have your BSCE, PE and 5+ years of relevant experience focused on signals, illumination and ITS design and construction. You have designed and delivered detailed signal and illumination designs and specifications and estimates required to develop construction documents. You are familiar with the MUTCD and the WSDOT design manual.

Tech Savvy: You enjoy applying your Excel and AutoCAD/MicroStation skills and preferably have experience in AGi32 lighting analysis software and signal analysis software. You are interested in evolving technologies and innovation. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and construction of traffic signal and illumination systems.

Innovative: You will develop innovative solutions for signaling and illumination systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. Create designs that meet project specifications, considering factors such as energy efficiency, aesthetics, and safety.

Relationship-Focused: You enjoy working in a team environment, are flexible, confident, you are not afraid to ask questions and are an excellent communicator. You have a great track record with your clients and have a strong desire to collaborate.

  • Base salary for this position is in the range of $90,000-$120,000+. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, location, and role. For all positions we conduct an equity review. Employee-owners are all eligible for performance-based bonuses based on key contributions. Salaries are reviewed at least once annually as part of our compensation program. We are transparent in our salary discussions and look forward to sharing more about our compensation structure and the value of being an employee-owner.
