Summary:

Plans and implements the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission and control of electric power. Works with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to design, prototype, and test mixed-signal circuits and subsystems for aerospace and defense applications. This includes developing system level electrical architecture, defining requirements and verification methods, and overseeing the design of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for guidance, navigation, and control related subsystems.

Major Position Responsibilities
    Designs, develops, and tests electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems
  • Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs
  • Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved
  • Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering
  • 8-10 years experience in an engineering function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Strong embedded systems skills including experience writing firmware, board support code, bootloaders; experience debugging code (ASM, C, C++, or C#) for embedded systems
    • Familiar with data acquisition and characteristics of sensors such as accelerometers, MEMS gyros, magnetometers, GPS modules, and thermal sensors
    • Proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE and Ansys SIwave. Experience with MATLAB and Simulink a plus
    • Ability to create and document automated test systems for CCAs (typically deployed to CCA vendors). Experience with LabVIEW a plus
    • Proficiency with a wide variety of electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, DMM, frequency counter/generator, etc.)
    • Proficiency in requirements management and verification using tools such as DOORS
  • Clear understanding of basic project management principles
  • Ability to oversee other functional areas in the accomplishment of hardware, planning and test tasks
  • Independently evaluate, select, and applie standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications for the solution to specific engineering problems
  • Ability to translate general customer requirements into products, specific requirements and program elements
  • Strong team collaboration and leadership, capability to lead a technical team, provide direction to subcontractors, and collaborate with management
  • Strong technical writing skill and disciplined approach to documentation and presentations
  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
  • Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly
  • Position requires a high degree of analytical aptitude with strong problem solving skills
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complex tasks
  • Works under limited supervision
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
  • Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgment

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools
  • Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent meetings, presentations, and site visits
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of time

Pay Range (USD)
Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate range for this position, it is estimated based on what a successful applicant might be paid: $93,100.00 - $172,900.00
Additional Compensation
Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
