Job Overview

Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, the Maintenance Administrator will inspect vehicles and make minor repairs, validate vehicle repair needs that are observed by operators and relocate vehicles to and from maintenance facilities, as needed to support repositioning and repair operations. The Maintenance Administrator will actively work with the Work Flow Lead and Supervision to provide fleet maintenance in accordance with the preventive maintenance program and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Coordinate the delivery and pickup of MPO Agency owned/leased vehicles to and from the repair facility.
  • Perform minor emergency type repairs, to include road service/towing.
  • Provide tow truck operational support to include; vehicle break downs, accidents, and vehicle recovery.
  • Perform periodic inspections of vehicles and its components to include DOT standards.
  • Perform road tests of brakes, steering mechanisms, engine performance, clutch, gear shifting, panel instruments, and gauges.
  • Perform test drives to determine vehicle safety is maintained prior to going to and returning from the repair facility.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks timely and completely.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance supply inventory and coordinate generation of Purchase Requests as needed.
  • Must be able to work during snow events based on the customer's needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's license (CDL) with Class P endorsement.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's license (CDL) with Class P endorsement within 6 months of employment
  • Four (4) years of experience working in the field of Commercial diesel/gas engines and automotive repair, or ASE certified in the field of Commercial diesel/gas engines and automotive repair.
  • Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required.
  • Follow written and oral instructions and have interpersonal skills to communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain prior to commencing work and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
