Who you are: You thrive on the dynamic intersection of environmental sustainability and project management. You have a working knowledge of the forest products industry, preferably including forest management, harvesting, product manufacturing and marketing. You have superior strategic and analytical skills and are a creative and intellectually curious thinker.


You have a master's degree in forestry, natural resources, economics, business administration, finance, or a related discipline coupled with five to seven years of experience, or a bachelor's degree in a similar discipline with an additional three years of related professional experience.


What the job is: As the Manager of Forest Carbon Projects, you will spearhead the management, analysis, and development of forest carbon offset projects from conception to implementation. Your role will be multifaceted, encompassing a blend of hands-on analytical work, strategic project oversight, and collaborative leadership. You will report directly to the VP of Acquisitions and Business Development and have a strong working relationship with the Divisional General Managers.

Examples of the daily work associated with the job:

  • Manage/perform monitoring, analysis, and reporting functions of ongoing projects to inform and support management decisions and to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, support and mentor analysts working on forest carbon projects. Evaluate and recommend additional staffing needs in this focus area.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Research new forest carbon opportunities and maintain a current understanding of various protocols, registries, and sector happenings.
  • Prepare/manage discounted cash flow models and other financial and market analysis in support of potential management recommendations; validate the reasonableness of underlying key assumptions.
  • Participate in integration planning and execution, as required.
  • Develop detailed project plans that consider resource availability and have a system to monitor and track progress.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve our internal processes.

Compensation: Annual Salary Range: $111,500 - $167,200 per year. The pay range listed is just one component of Green Diamond's total compensation package. Other rewards include eligibility to receive a company-wide annual financial performance bonus, and the opportunity to receive an individual performance-based bonus, candidate referral bonuses, and spot bonuses.
