As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts you will assist in the development of a world-leading risk management organization. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of risk management policies and procedures for tracking, managing, and retiring risks across the enterprise by identifying, measuring, and mitigating risk in the organization, to optimize and enhance business operations. The Risk Manager (Business Continuity) works under the supervision of the Senior BCM Manager aims to facilitate and mature the BCM program across the company by working with all internal and some external stakeholders. The successful candidate will continue to build on the enterprise-wide framework and plans in place to identify, assess, and mitigate a broad range of non-IT threats (natural, technical, geopolitical, accidental, workforce, supplier) before they critically disrupt business operations. The role will also support launch and non-launch crisis management. Blue's geographic footprint at this time is limited to the United States for its operations.

Blue's BCM program includes the following disciplines:

  • Crisis management
  • Disaster Recovery (non-IT focused)
  • Business Continuity Management focused on business processes and Business Units
  • Third-party risk and contingency management
  • Program governance and management

The Chief Risk & Trade Compliance Officer and General Counsel oversee the BCM program. The BCM Steering Committee, comprised of members of the Senior Executive and other key stakeholders, ensures that the BCM program has significant support and visibility across the enterprise. The role will meaningfully contribute to maturing the BCM program and provide insights into enterprise-wide risks that may influence the Insurance and ERM programs.

The role will also support the Enterprise Operations Center (EOC) and internal stakeholders and related programs.

Responsibilities

Business Continuity responsibilities

  • Working with the Chief Risk & Trade Compliance Officer, Senior Risk Manager (BCM), and other Risk team leads, execute the Business Continuity and Crisis Management 3-Year Strategy and significantly contribute to refreshing the Strategy annually
  • Will contribute to and present parts of the updates to the quarterly BCM Steering Committee, comprised of members of the company's Executive Management Team
  • Working with others in the Risk Team, develop detailed project objectives, scope, goals, and deliverables for projects of moderately complex scale. Define tasks, identify project resources, and assign individual responsibilities. Ensure timelines meet the strategic needs of the business.
  • Working closely with Site Leaders, Operations, Supply Chain, Facilities, Security, EHS, Legal & Compliance, Finance, Enterprise Technology, Corporate Communications, and other teams, build, develop and regularly review continuity and recovery strategies to restore Blue's mission-critical business processes, personnel, data, and equipment
  • Interview Business Units and Functional Groups to develop Business Impact Analyses, actionable Business Recovery Plans, and Crisis Management Plans
  • Working with the Senior Risk Manager (BCM), develop test and exercise strategy and test plans. Facilitate tabletops and workshops in select areas and offices.
  • Support integration and synergies with the peer departments to enhance our overall organizational resiliency
  • Support the ongoing delivery and maintenance of the Business Continuity Program's Business Impact Analysis (BIA) framework to include the elements: Governance Documentation, BIA Data Collection tools, Business Process Maps
  • Use Resilience, a Riskonnect BCM software system to fully support the BCM program and develop reporting options from the system

Crisis Management responsibilities

  • Working with the Chief Risk and Trade Compliance Officer and the Senior Risk Manager (BCM) , support Crisis Management for all major incidents enterprise wide. This includes an on-call schedule and flexibility on work schedule
  • Oversee and manage the execution of recovery plans when a business disruption occurs and where necessary, step into roles to lead and direct the recovery efforts of others
  • Organizational Support for the Everbridge Alert Notification system and works with the Senior Risk Manager to maintain data hygiene for the system

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in an environment with tight time constraints, frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Experience writing Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Plans in the aerospace, manufacturing, technology, or defense industry.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience with planning, implementing, and sustaining BCM, disaster recovery, and crisis management programs.
  • Advanced Excel, Office, and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Experience in Training and Exercise Programs, and After-Action reporting processes
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Desired

  • Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of stakeholders at various organizational levels
  • Experience working in high-performance, multidisciplinary workgroups or teams to meet recoverability goals Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master, or similar
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience for business projects.
  • Experience in working with Everbridge
  • Background in Emergency Management, or certification such as Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
  • Experience with supply-chain related Business Continuity
  • Experience in Risk Management Information Systems and Project Management applications
