OverviewAre you passionate about building cool devices and technologies? The Surface Team focuses on lighting up Microsoft experiences with touch first computing. Creating these devices involves a close partnership between hardware and software engineers, designers, and manufacturing. We are currently building the next generation and Surface needs you! We are looking for a Electrical Engineer to focus on the electrical system design for next generation Surface Platforms/products. A mix of technical breadth and depth will allow you to work cross-functionally with different disciplines (Industrial Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Software and Firmware) to develop compelling innovative products. You will design and develop circuits, select key strategic components and that encompasses the entire product. Responsibilities Develops Schematics and BOM (Bill of Materials) to meet the design requirements.Analyzes the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the design requirements.Collaborate with mechanical engineering, firmware, hardware verification, and many other engineering and design disciplines to optimize the overall system of the product from concept to completion in the factoryWorks with suppliers, contractors, and engineering services to ensure that the product is developed on time with high qualityDesign, build and test rapid prototypes for evaluation of new product ideas or technology concepts.Conducts design/debug investigations and support development, maintenance, failure analysis, and resolution activities.Develop project documentation including specifications, schematic diagrams, PCB (PRinted Circut Board) layouts, schedules and presentations to meet requirements and communicate the electrical design and its progressOther: Embody our Culture and Values
