Requisition Summary

PACCAR Embedded Engineering is a rapidly expanding organization that is transforming the way control systems and software are developed for commercial vehicle applications. This includes developing the latest vehicle controls, display technology, and autonomous truck solutions that exceed customer expectations. You will collaborate with an international, cross-functional team focused on driving superior technical solutions that maximize customer uptime and operating efficiency. PACCAR's Embedded Engineering department, which serves both Kenworth and Peterbilt, has an opening for aDiagnostic Software Supervisor.In this role,successful candidate will be leading a team that is responsible for developing innovative manufacturing and service tool solutions to aid manufacturing plants and service technicians with accurate issue identification and resolution on truck electronic systems.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include managing all aspects of development projects from concept to closure to meet schedule, performance, usability, security, and reliability requirements; includes supervising, personnel development, team building, proportioning workload, and tracking progress
  • Responsible for tracking all aspects of active projects, providing periodic status updates to management, managing projects through all tollgates and insuring the use of Design for Six Sigma tools
  • Responsible for diagnostic systems development to support new vehicle components, controls, and features
  • Coordinate escalation-level support for critical plant and field service issues
  • Diagnostic and programming requirements extraction and management - lead the creation of requirements documentation to align content and functional development with prioritized needs of multiple constituencies
  • Diagnostic tool content development: coordinate diagnostic tool software development with product development input, parallel/shared development in Europe, and the needs of the aftersales support organizations; ensure delivery of programming, fault handling, and test capabilities; manage integration of content for 3rd party systems into proprietary software tools.
  • Up to 15% travel, including international (potentially 30% in first year)

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4-Year degree required (BSEE/BSCS/BSME); Master's degree/PE license preferred
  • Must demonstrate an ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and respond dynamically to shifting priorities
  • Overall product knowledge is required, along with the ability to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Manufacturing and service experience desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with software design, multiplexed communications, diagnostics, powertrain and/or other embedded systems leadership experience
  • Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong knowledge of automotive embedded electronic control systems

Additional Job Board Information

The salary range for Embedded Engineering Supervisor -Diagnostic Software is $110,600-$173,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
