Description

Responsible for process stabilization of production areas assigned. Monitor and summarize process data and production quality. Prepare condition tables and correct any quality deviations developing countermeasures and implementing through condition adjustment orders. Monitor equipment conditions / performance and correct any problems. Troubleshoot to provide solutions and ideas concerning problems directly relate to issues involving quality, production stability, process conditions and machine performance. Implement actions to improve product quality and reduce energy consumption.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all plant safety rules and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Perform Material and Energy Balances in the Polymerization, Recovery, and Spinning processes.
  • Thorough understanding of distillation process and all the related variables that affect a distillation process.
  • Thorough understanding of reaction engineering and all the related variables that affect reaction process.
  • Liaison between engineering group and production group and appropriate communication to ensure day to day activities are completed successfully.
  • Collect, compile, summarize and analyze daily data from production and QA.
  • Evaluate and/or troubleshoot current and future production problems that affect quality, production cost, production conditions and machine performance.
  • Implement countermeasures to correct process issues.
  • Monitor, confirm and request needed adjustments concerning production conditions, process equipment and process stability.
  • Prepare production condition tables and conditions adjustment orders.
  • Support technical engineering during test production.
  • Develop the appropriate knowledge required to become a site expert in the polymerization, recovery, and spinning processes.
  • Develop automatic reports using miscellaneous data sources to help streamline the operation of the Spinning/Poly processes.
  • Interact with MES frequently and help resolve logistical issues or other related issues.
  • Manage capital projects.
  • Manage MOC's for the Spinning Department.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.

  • One to three years of similar or related experience.

  • This position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these regulations, Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to utilize/operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software. Must possess knowledge base typically obtained through completion of a degree in technical discipline (chemical engineering preferred). The ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists are frequent. Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to move within the production area and occasionally climb stairs. Vision abilities require the adjustment and focus of sight. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation. Must be able to wear a full face respirator.

Salary Range: $72k - $97k
