Position Summary

The Point of Care Educator is responsible to develop, conduct and evaluate training of moderate and waived complexity testing, which includes the collection of quality samples. The POC Educator shares responsibility with the Ancillary Testing Manager to interpret and review the policies and procedures. The POC Educator serves as a resource to clinicians, educators and management for regulatory requirements, scheduling training, and identifying Point of Care Testing (POCT) educational needs of staff. Work situations require moderate problem solving and analytical skills. This position is an intermediate-level position, working under limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Associates Degrees in related health care field, or the equivalent in Applied Technology or Science; Bachelors of Science preferred
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT, or MLS (ASCP) preferred
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle; Current Washington Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
  • Clinical Laboratory experience: including test performance, quality control procedures and documentation, and specimen collection including capillary and venipuncture
  • Minimum four (4) years combined relevant teaching and experience in area of expertise

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $54,163.00 - $77,938.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
