The Business Development Manager will be responsible for three key areas in the Pacific Northwest Region (Portland and Seattle): identifying potential opportunities, the sales of business products, and service with a primary focus on MiTek's Benson Curtain Wall and ONEWALL products.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborating with senior executive team to establish and execute annual forecasting sales goals for the region to maximize sales revenue and develop specific sales plans to ensure growth both long and short-term.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key architects, general contractors, and owners for both major and glass division projects though personal visits, attending industry conferences and networking events.

  • Work with Director of Pre-Construction and VP Business Development to coordinate budgeting and bidding on projects.

  • Review all plans, specifications, and contract requirements for selected projects, prior to the submittal of budgets or proposals.

  • Actively pursue bids with customers to ascertain potential, award, next steps, and general market information. Assertively grow established territory.

  • Participate in follow up meetings with the contractor/owner and kick-off meeting with Benson personnel to provide a clear and accurate outline of our subcontract obligations as well as providing documentation to ops team assigned to project.

  • Actively participate in the team to review of the final subcontract agreement, prior to signing, to ensure subcontract agreement matches the commitments outlined in proposal and any subsequent agreements.

  • Maintain highly organized records and meet required closing date on multiple projects through effective time management.

  • Performs additional assignments per the Manager's direction.

  • Work closely with the Director of Pre-construction for all Benson Curtainwall budgeting and bid opportunities.

  • Work closely with the ONEWALL product manager to promote and identify opportunities for specification and bidding work related to that product.

  • Coordinate information and opportunities as applicable with other MiTek Commercial Building Envelope and Modular Solutions.

  • Attendance in the office/field during normal business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience required

  • Experience or knowledge of engineering, architecture, and construction highly preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with engineers, architects, and other key members of the construction process to present and sell MiTek products

  • Working knowledge of construction principles and procedures

  • Glass and glazing experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Must have strong writing, technical and organizational skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with customers

  • Organizational skills, follow-up, and efficiency skills required

  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities, remaining flexible and solution oriented

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate information on blueprints preferred
