Estimated annual base pay for Level 2: $100,900.00 (minimum) - $126,100.00 (midpoint) - $151,300.00 (maximum)
Estimated annual base pay for Level 3: $116,000.00 (minimum) - $145,000.00 (midpoint) - $174,000.00 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you have a solid background in training suppliers in various tools and methodologies and have a proven track record of improving supplier processes, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Woodward is hiring for a Supplier Development Engineer at our Rock Cut Campus in Loves Park, IL. This individual will identify and mitigate supplier risks, support project managers and purchasing supplier managers, work collaboratively with suppliers, proactively look for new technologies, and mentor other team members.
What You Will Be Doing
Training the supply base in Woodward's internal processes, Lean Manufacturing, 8D Methodology, PFMEA, SPC, Gage R&R and Critical Characteristics and Measurement System Analysis to ensure suppliers can meet the company's stringent standards and requirements.
Enhancing supplier processes and performances, focusing on technical quality and on-time delivery KPI's.
Performing capability evaluations and collaborating with supply chain and materials teams to verify suppliers have the necessary processes in place to fulfill technical and quality requirements, using assessment tools (Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, etc.) to identify and address potential risks
Addressing performance gaps such as quality and product requirements, training suppliers to meet customer specifications and product standards.
Mentoring and coaching other Supplier Quality and Development Engineers, Project Managers and Purchasing Supplier Managers.
Proactively researching new technologies, making recommendations for cost reductions and improving product quality
What We Are Looking For
Level 2:
Bachelor's degree is required
5-7 years minimum experience in quality engineering is required
Green Belt Certificate will be achieved in the first 6 months of hire.
Ability to travel extensively (50-75% throughout the year)
Demonstrated SME in near net shapes (castings, forgings, etc.), machining (programming, set-up, operations, etc.) is highly desired
Experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role is strongly preferred along with previous success in lean manufacturing, quality and Six Sigma functions.
Level 3:
Bachelor's degree is required
7 years minimum experience in quality engineering or supplier quality management systems is required
Black Belt Certificate is required
Ability to travel extensively (50-75% throughout the year)
