Overview

Verathon is looking for a Clinical Specialist (Respiratory) to become the newest member of our sales team located in Salt Lake City or Las Vegas.

The Clinical Specialist (Respiratory) is responsible for providing clinical expertise during product demonstrations and evaluations, driving product adoption and utilization through clinical support and education, and providing field sales training within the defined geographical region. In addition, the Clinical Specialist reports to Sales Management and assists with clinical support for our Visualization business unit. Verathon is the market leader in video laryngoscopy and has a growing portfolio of respiratory and pulmonology product offerings.

Responsibilities
    Partner with Field Sales to provide technical and clinical support for customer appointments, product demonstrations, and evaluations to achieve BFlex revenue goals assigned to the territory and region.
  • Proactively maintain customer relationships by providing ongoing support and follow-up across various hospitals and hospital departments.
  • Attend patient cases and procedures and advise physicians and clinical teams on our airway and respiratory product line's clinical workflow, benefits, and applications.
  • Attend and contribute to customer meetings and presentations.
  • Attend trade shows, workshops, and cadaver labs as required.
  • Ensure all relevant hospital personnel is thoroughly trained and competent in adequately handling and using GlideScope products.
  • Promote the Verathon value proposition, demonstrating how single-use and our Total Airway Solution add value to the hospital and patients.
  • Stay current on current market trends, competitive product offerings, and alternative clinical methods and educate their team members on them those items.
  • Answer various questions regarding clinical airway and respiratory applications and disease processes.
  • Deliver Verathon-authorized education content to conference attendees or large group settings.
  • Understand Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) levels for ordering BFlex in accounts to assist reps and hospital staff in establishing a proper ordering schedule
  • Provide subject matter expertise in product and clinical, technical competencies.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Specialists nationally to create training content as needed.
  • Facilitate training sessions for the sales team to improve clinical knowledge and capability in the airway and respiratory arena.
  • Serve as a resource for training field sales reps within an assigned geographical region and other areas.
  • Partner with our product marketing and field sales teams as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in a hospital setting as a certified or registered respiratory therapist, or 2+ years of industry clinical sales support required.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong experience in clinical education and training.
  • Clinical experience and technical knowledge of airway management and bronchoscopy devices are required either as an industry clinical representative or hospital staff member.
  • Understanding of the nuances related to video laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy in various clinical settings.
  • Demonstrate good critical thinking and flexibility in complex situations.
  • Ability to function independently in accounts as needed without representative support.
  • Ability to create clear and concise business communications that demonstrate a deep understanding of the market and company products.
  • Ability to synthesize and present product information in a very detailed, accurate, and comprehensible way.
  • Able to meet vendor credentialing requirements for all healthcare systems (including COVID-19 vaccine).
  • Driven to continually learn and improve clinical capabilities and product knowledge, including competitive offerings.
  • Able to work effectively with sales professionals and various customer personality types.
  • Effective at prioritizing, planning, and scheduling activities to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with standard computer applications, such as MS Office, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and CRM software, Salesforce.com.
  • Must be insurable and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must reside with designated geography, ideally Salt Lake City or Las Vegas.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Up to 80% of overnight travel is required within the West region, but likely 10 nights per month. Main geography you'll be supporting is UT, WY, NV, AZ, and Eastern ID. Rare support of other states within region include WA, OR, MT, AK, HI, and Western ID. Also, daily travel to accounts required, as needed.
